Position Title: Lead Lifeguard.
Position Reports To: Director of Hospitality and Food & Beverage Manager.
Employee Categories: Part-Time Seasonal.
FLSA Category: Non-Exempt; Hourly Position.
Lifeguards are responsible for guarding the pool and the members in the pool area. Lifeguards are also responsible for greeting the members, testing the pool for chlorine, and maintaining a clean, organized, and safe deck area and locker room area.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Ensure a safe and friendly aquatic environment.
- Provide excellent service to members and guests.
- Ensure the pool staff models outstanding standards of service.
- Be familiar with and uphold the rules set forth by BHCC.
- Recognize Emergencies and respond effectively.
- Promote Private Lessons, Group Lessons, Swim Team, and Summer Program.
- Knowledgeable about The Pump Room and all aspects of Daily Operations.
- Regular and Flexible Availability.
- Assist with lessons, swim team, and summer program.
- Assist with daily statistics.
- Assist with Pool Events.
- Continued education: re-certification as necessary.
- Continued development of Standard Operating Procedures.
- Special Projects as assigned by General Manager/Director of Hospitality/Food & Beverage Manager.
- On rainy days or days the pool may close, lifeguards are given the opportunity to keep their hours by completing other tasks around Blue Hill Country Club.
Required Skills:
- Ability to communicate clearly.
- Exposure to a private club environment is preferable.
- Lifeguards must love to interact with all ages and have a passion for swimming.
- Must be 21+ years old.
- Must have at least 3 years of experience as a lifeguard.
Specialized Knowledge:
- Lifeguard Red Cross certified.
- CPR/AED certified.
Uniform:
- A bathing suit is required.
- Tee Shirt is by BHCC.
- Sweatshirt provided by BHCC.
- Red Mesh Shorts.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to be in the pool for long periods.
- Ability to sit for 8 hours.
- Ability to clean the bathroom, including floors and toilets.
- Ability to perform all physical requirements as outlined by the lifeguard certification course.
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Reliability and reliable transportation are a must.
$20 to $27/hour depending upon qualifications. The position requires 32 - 40 hours per week, holidays, and weekends.
Must be available from Memorial Day through Labor Day weekend.
